• Before you pick-up a uOttawa card that was ordered online, please wait to receive the email letting you know that your uOttawa card was printed and is ready to be picked up.
• If you are moving into residence in January, your card will be ready to be picked up during your move in.
  Consult the Winter 2025 student card distribution for dates and hours of the winter distribution. 

Your student uOttawa card will be your residence access card!  If you have NOT submitted your photo online before December 13, 2024, you may experience delays when moving into residence in January 2025.

Residents who DON’T HAVE a uOttawa card

• Students who are moving into residence in Winter 2025 will receive their uOttawa card upon residence move-in.
• If you were not able to submit your photo online and you are moving into residence in January 6th, you will need to go get your uOttawa Card at 90 University room 145.  You may experience delays as this is the 1st day the University opens after the holiday break.  <

Residents who HAVE a uOttawa card

• If you already have a uOttawa card, you must bring it with your during your residence move-in period so we can activate your uOttawa card to give you access to your building/room. This process can only be done during your move-in time.

We strongly recommend that all incoming students submit their photo online. Just make sure that the photo meets the photo requirements. Once your card has been printed, you will receive an email to let you know that your card is ready to be picked up. Your card can be picked up during the dates, time and location in the table below:

Starting this fall, your uOttawa Card is your U-Pass!

What you need to know prior to using your student card as your U-Pass:

• Make sure you’ve been charged for the U-Pass for the winter term, consult your student account or your U-Pass dashboard..
• If you obtained your student card before May 2024 and have not done so during the fall, you might need to get the U-Pass added to your student card.

You do not need to add the U-Pass to your student card if:

• You obtained your student card on or after May 1^st, 2024.
• You had the U-Pass added in person at the uOttawa Card service, Housing reception or Sports Service over the summer.
• Your student card works on the transit system.

I am unsure if my student card has the U-Pass capability, what should I do:

• Consult the “Winter 2025 student uOttawa card distribution: when and where” tab above and come visit us in person. We will double check your card for you. 

Unfortunately, adding the U-Pass to your student card can only be done in person during our office hours.  Fortunately, it only takes a few seconds to add and only needs to be done once.
